Liquor Information Pricing Services (LIPS) monitors advertised retail liquor prices and promotion activity throughout New Zealand.

Established in November 2003, the vision for LIPS is to accurately record all liquor pricing advertised in the print and electronic media through-out New Zealand. LIPS record all beer prices, wine prices, spirits prices and RTD prices (Ready To Drink pre-mixed spirits) advertised nationwide.

The pricing data is uploaded to this website where various liquor pricing reports are available to be viewed and downloaded. LIPS also has a Chart-Builder for users to create their own graphs and identify advertising and pricing trends instantly by alcohol type, products, suppliers, retailers and regions. Liquor suppliers and retailers use the information to analyse promotion trends on alcohol, brands and competitors, and develop pricing strategies to improve their own sales performance.
